This one came together really well. We did a full tear-off and installed Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles in Midnight - a charcoal-toned color that sits right in the sweet spot between bold and versatile. It works with just about any exterior color scheme, which is probably why it's one of the most requested shades we put on roofs.

The home itself has a larger footprint with multiple roof planes, so this wasn't a simple straight-shot job. Getting clean lines across every ridge, hip, and valley on a layout like this takes real attention to detail. The Midnight color makes every angle read clearly from above - no muddy transitions, no sloppy cuts.

We've now completed three roofs on this street in Claremont. That kind of repeat trust from neighbors in the same block means a lot to us. It tells us the first and second homeowners were happy enough to recommend us, and that's the kind of reputation we work hard to earn on every single job.

TruDefinition Duration shingles are a step up from standard 3-tab in terms of wind resistance, dimensional texture, and long-term durability. For a home in Southern California where heat cycles are intense, the quality of the underlayment and the shingle itself matters more than most people realize. We don't cut corners on the system underneath - it's what protects the home, not just the top layer you can see.

If your roof is getting up there in age or you've started seeing signs of wear, a full tear-off and reinstall is usually the right call rather than layering over what's already there. It gives you a clean slate, proper inspection of the decking, and a warranty you can actually stand behind.
